movement: The number one detractor of movement quality is EXCESS TENSION. You definitely need some degree of physical tension whenever your in contact with a powerful opponent and at critical moments you'll need a LOT of tension administered in short bursts – but keep it at a level and a duration that preserves movement quality and endurance or that excess tension will finish you quicker than your opponent. Learning to find the right balance between tension and relaxation is a difficult thing. start with very light non competitive sparring to get the idea of moves and movement with a sense of relaxed elan that will transfer over to some degree in time to real sparring. The single most discernible feature of an experts game versus a beginners game is regulation of body tension – make sure it's part of your awareness and training
