Great night of grappling in Costa Mesa! giancarlo bodoni put on a fine show at the IBJJF Absolute Grand Prix tonight here in Costa Mesa. He defeated the great Brazilian champion Patrick Gaudio and Pedro Rocha to make it into the finals against the great double ADCC champion Kaynan Duarte. It was a tight tactical match with Mr Duarte winning via early takedown when giancarlo rolled from standing into a leg lock entry which was countered well by Mr Duarte. It was a fine performance against a great champion in a heavier weight class. The show overall was great. Jiu Jitsu superstars Kade ruotolo and Tainan Dalpra also had fine wins in their super fights. tomorrow Nicholas Meregali and I will drive from Orange County to Las Vegas to prepare for his upcoming match against the great ADCC champion Matheus Diniz. I have always considered this drive route one of my favorites in the USA – the coast and the desert always look majestic. Hope you all enjoyed the show!
