Pathways: There are goals that you want in a match – an opponents back, control of both legs, front head and arm – whatever the goal, there will be a pathway to it that you'll have to navigate to get to that goal. For example, there are many pathways to the opponents back – one of the best is to beat your opponents elbow. An opponents elbow in good position is a closed door – if you can catch it out of position it's an open pathway to the back. The body is full of such pathways and doors – learning to identity them and exploit them is a key to your progress
