Pinning limbs: Pinning the upper body body is a foundational skill in Jiu jitsu, but going the extra distance and pinning a limb as well as the torso is always a good thing when trying to go from pin to submission. Almost all the major upper body submissions benefit from pinning down an arm prior to executing the technique. Make a habit of this and you'll soon see that pins are not just for points but make your submission game much stronger
