Creating openings: Even the most perfect execution of a given technique will come up short if it is applied against a perfectly executed defensive structure. Alternatively, a technique that is far from perfect will work adequately if it is applied against a very compromised defensive structure. A huge part of whether or not your techniques will work is bound up with your ability to create temporary openings in your opponents defensive structures and attack through that window of opportunity. Try to build into your game the notion of prior set up THEN execution rather than just going straight into the move. The better your opponents the more this essential two step methodology must permeate your game.
