You don't have to be heavy to use your weight to advantage against an opponent. A 60kg athlete who can use good stance and positioning to use 50% of his weight to bear against a small part of his opponents body will be much more effective with his weight than a 100kg athlete whose weight is dissipated through poor stance and positioning so that only 20% of his weight is brought to bear against his opponent. When stance and positioning is equal, greater weight will be decisive, but if you have strong stance and position even a light athlete can feel awfully heavy when he wants to. Don't let your weight make the decision whether you use it to create pressure – let your stance and positioning skills make the choice
