Nicholas Meregali won a tremendous victory tonight over his great rival Felipe Pena via strangle with one of the greatest performances of his career to cap off an incredible year of victory for this truly outstanding Brazilian athlete. This was an always going to be a battle to determine who is the best in the world outside of Gordon Ryan – both men had a legitimate claim to that title – and tonight it was settled. Mr Meregali started with , survived an early reversal and went back into pressure mode until he got to his lethal strangle skills and won in dramatic ! To finish such a great jiu jitsu athlete within fifteen minutes is a truly impressive performance. There were other great fights tonight. won a fine victory over Brazilian superstar showcasing his very and passing skills. Mason Fowler showed his very strong submission skills with an impressive victory over Haisam Rida. The great Brazilian athlete Victor Hugo had a dramatic win over New Wave's Dan Manasoiu. The match was very even as the two big men went toe to toe standing and on the ground. With just a minute left and very tight Mr Hugo exploded up from underneath and reversed Dan into mount position and won via classic American lock on a very fatigued Dan. It was a great match for the spectators with all the back and forth and the dramatic ending.
